The Sight Is a Wound  by Parham Ghalamdar

Σάββατο 24 & Κυριακή 25/10 |  11:00 π.μ. – 10.00 μ.μ. |  @ Αθήνα στο Σεράφειο του Δήμου Αθηναίων | Είσοδος Ελεύθερη

Synopsis

The Sight Is a Wound begins with a question: what can an artist offer when images of atrocity circulating online overwhelm the capacity of art to respond? In the shadow of the genocide in Gaza and its relentless mediation through screens, the Iranian-British artist Parham Ghalamdar burns more than fifty of his own paintings. The film turns this act of destruction into a video-poem about the limits of image-making, asking what it means to produce, consume and continue looking at images when witnessing itself has become entangled with repetition, distance and desensitisation.
